SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND
While we’re waiting for the gladiatorial combat that is the World Cup to take over the telly schedules, here’s something almost as exciting to be going on with. Even people who have never seen Kirk Douglas in Stanley Kubrick’s great epic know who Spartacus is — and this is a particularly energetic incarnation, slicing the limbs of opponents and engaging in post-match relaxation with assorted ladeez with all the energy of an England left-back.
