Origin: Legendary Thracian gladiator who led a slave uprising against the Roman republic.
You can't be an average Joe when your role calls for constant barechestedness and sword swinging. Though Whitfield's illness caused him to be replaced in next season's "Spartacus," we expect he'll fight his cancer with the same strength as Spartacus himself.
