Crixus is the top gladiator at Batiatus’ Ludus. He has a deep-seated dislike of Spartacus. Because of his status, he receives certain perks within the ludus including spending money and his own cell. He is also sleeping with Lucretia, his mistress. During the walks to and from her bedroom, Crixus enjoys stolen moments with Naevia, the slave girl with whom he shares a forbidden love.

He was born in Auckland, New Zealand, of Maori descent, and grew up in Newcastle, Australia. His acting career began in Australia in series such as "Paradise Beach," "Water Rats," "All Saints," followed by lead roles in New Zealand series including "Street Legal," "Shortland Street" and "Mataku."

 

Manu Bennett is Crixus, champion gladiator on Spartacus Blood and Sand. I am delighted to interview Manu who is a fan favourite. This interview is slightly longer than normal as it has two sections.
